2025 ARTI Awards: IF Theatre and Flanner House | The Flanner Fringe Lab | Community Partnerships IF Theatre and Flanner House have forged a new relationship, creating Flanner Fringe Lab. This new partnership works towards two essential goals: reducing the barriers for BIPOC hoosiers to receive an arts education and participate in local cultural initiatives like the IndyFringe Festival and OnyxFest, as well as to create both free and low-cost theatrical experiences for residents on the Northwest side of Indianapolis. Austin Dean Ashford, Arts Director of Flanner House, works with students in the community to teach them how to write a play. There were readings of those plays across the Flanner House campus on Feb. 7 and 8 this year. Four of those plays were then selected to appear in the IndyFringe Festival this year, while three additional students were selected via lottery to be in the Festival.
