VICTORIOUS START FOR LIONS IN CLOVIS: The jserra.girlstennis team kicked off its run at the California Tennis Classic on Friday at Clovis East High School with two wins. The Lions opened Division 1 play with a 5-1 victory over the host Timberwolves. It was a clean sweep of doubles action for the Lions, as sophomore Brookelyn Garcia and freshman Paisley Crutchfield (6-3, 7-5), sophomores Ava Levitanus and Julianna Johnson (6-0, 6-1), and junior Naomi Clarke and sophomore Milana Leffler (6-4, 6-0) produced winning results. Sophomore Isabella Geffre (6-1, 6-0) and freshman Madison Mann (6-0, 6-0) claimed singles triumphs for the Lions. JSerra swept San Joaquin Memorial by a score of 6-0 in their second match of the day. Senior Scarlett Vukich claimed wins of 6-2 and 6-4 from Line 1 to spark the Lions singles’ effort.
