Playing from 1996-2002, Jacqueline Lavallee is a former Huskie Women’s Basketball and Huskie Women’s Soccer star. The dual sport Métis athlete has also been an assistant coach with the Huskie Women’s Basketball program for a total of 22 seasons. During her time as a Huskie, Jacqueline played twice at the World University Games, won the Sylvia Sweeney Award, was a Canada West All-Star, CIS All-Canadian in basketball and soccer, USports top 8 Academic All-Canadian, and the recipient of the Tom Longboat Award, recognizing Indigenous athletes for outstanding athletic achievement. She also simultaneously earned a double degree from usask in Kinesiology and Education and later completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology. After her time with the Huskies, Jacqueline played for the Canadian National Basketball Team from 2002-2004.
