In 2010, as team captain, Michael Linklater led the Huskie Men’s Basketball team to their first ever national championship. From there he went on to become one of the world’s top 3x3 basketball players, playing 7 world tours and competing in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup for Team Canada, in addition to helping the 2019 Saskatchewan Rattlers to their first CEBL national title. Michael is a member of Thunderchild First Nation, a proud dad of four and a committed advocate for Indigenous youth through sport, community and cultural healing. He is the founder of Boys With Braids, an international anti-bullying movement aimed at celebrating and encouraging young Indigenous boys to grow their hair, and the co-founder of Sokhisiwin Solutions, an Indigenous strategy and implementation firm aimed at creating a generational impact through Truth and Reconciliation.
