Currently playing for Canada’s Senior National Team, Métis volleyball star Averie Allard wrapped up a six-year run with the Huskies in February 2023, when she took an opportunity to go pro in Europe. Averie has since played half a season in Italy, one season in Switzerland, one season in Serbia, and is now spending her fourth summer training with Team Canada and her first as a setter on the Senior A Team. Currently in Istanbul at the 2025 Volleyball Nations League, Averie is driven by her dream of competing at the Olympics and qualifying for Los Angeles 2028 with Team Canada. Her passion and drive extend far beyond the court, as an educator, advocate and activist. In a campaign she continues to run, Averie became known for writing “MMIW” on her leg at every Huskies game, successfully raising awareness and sparking conversation among athletes, fans and beyond about the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
