In March former Huskie's star goalie Roddy Ross was awarded a usask Indigenous Achievement Award for his dedication to community on and off campus. Originally from Meadow Lake and Canoe Lake Cree First Nation, Roddy was named this year's Canada West Goaltender of the Year, U Sports Second Team All-Canadian and the 2025 E. Kent Phillips Male Athlete of the Year. After wrapping an incredible career with the Huskies this spring, Roddy signed with the ECHL's wichita_thunder ๐Ÿ’. In between his athletic achievements, Roddy always finds time to give back - his passion for his culture, community and working with young people is evident in the generous and active role he's played in supporting the Huskies on our journey to Truth and Reconciliation. Thank you Roddy for showing Indigenous youth they belong here๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿงก To read the full story on Roddy's Indigenous Achievement Award head to the link in our bio. #NationalIndigenousHistoryMonth #Huskies #PowerofthePack #yxelocal
