Terri Peters and her husband have never been big on chain restaurants, but their teenagers love visiting them, so they've tried quite a few in recent years. Luckily, plenty have pleasantly surprised them, from upscale steakhouses like Ruth's Chris to surprisingly affordable spots like Waffle House. Now, they sometimes even look forward to checking out different chains — especially on double dates with their son and his girlfriend. The four of them regularly go to see a movie and get dinner at a restaurant near the theater. Their favorite spot is usually Chili's, but Peters recently suggested they try Applebee's instead since it's also close by.
