Have you seen the Deaf Flag? Been learning more about Deaf community everyday!
This flag was designed to give the Deaf community something so many of us longed for: visibility, pride, and unity.
The turquoise hand represents the signing Deaf community and Sign Language. The fingers stretch beyond the flag, showing how Sign Languages connect us across the five continents and more than 200 languages worldwide.
💙 Navy blue reminds us of planet Earth 🌍 and humanity, and it’s been tied to Deaf identity for years (blue ribbons, blue lights for International Day of Sign Languages).
đź’› Yellow is the color of life, light, and coexistence.
đź’™ Turquoise is the world color of Deaf culture, Sign Language, and community. Not just Deaf individuals, but DeafBlind, CODAs, interpreters, and families too.
Together, these colors say: We are here. We belong. We are part of humanity’s beautiful diversity. ✨
As we celebrate
#DeafAwarenessMonth, let’s raise the Deaf Flag high with pride, love, and uni...
