$3.3 million šŸ’° The Keeneland September Yearling Sale kicked off with a record-setting opening session on Monday, led by a $3.3-million son of Gun Runner. He was purchased by M.V. Magnier/White Birch/Winchell Thoroughbreds. The bay colt, consigned by Hill ā€˜n’ Dale at Xalapa, is out of ā€˜TDN Rising Star’ and GII winner Thoughtfully. He was bred by Hill ā€˜n’ Dale Equine Holdings and Matt Dorman’s Determined Stud. A total of 15 yearlings sold for seven figures during the session, the highest to reach that threshold during a single session since 2006. Overall: 106 yearlings had sold for $69,240,000. The average was $653,208–the highest ever at a single September session–and the median was $537,500. The sale continues today, Tuesday - Sept. 9, with the second session of Book 1 beginning at 1PM ET.
