The brutal murder of a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee on a light rail train in Charlotte, North Carolina, is fueling a nationwide debate over crime, punishment, and bail reform. Iryna Zarutska, who had fled the war in Ukraine, was fatally stabbed on a city transit line last week. Newly released video of the killing has ignited outrage, with critics questioning why the suspect — 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. — was free despite an extensive criminal history. Brown has at least 14 prior arrests and has spent much of his adult life in and out of prison. Earlier this year, a judge granted him release on cashless bail following an arrest in January, a decision now at the center of heated political debate. bit.ly/47AFlfA Stay up to date with our social media: KMPH on Facebook: facebook.com/KMPHFOX26 KMPH on Twitter / X : twitter.com/KMPHFOX26 KMPH on Instagram: instagram.com/kmphfox26 Subscribe to KMPH on YouTube: youtube.com/channel...
