American Icon The bald eagle, a symbol of American freedom and strength. The first time I saw one was in Canada last year. High up in the tree tops I thought that would be the closest I’d ever get to one, boy was I wrong. This eagle sat perched on a branch eye level with me for 2 hours. I was able to get within 10 feet and it didn’t flinch.
