Big news!
#StonyBrookU has awarded a $4M grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help build the future of the internet using the science of quantum entanglement.
Our researchers are taking the lead in building SCY-QNet, a 10-node quantum network developed with Columbia University, Yale University, and Brookhaven National Laboratory. Instead of moving data like today’s internet, this network will use entangled quantum particles to send information in ways that are faster, more secure, and incredibly precise.
It’s a major step toward technologies that could change how we communicate, measure time, and share information.
