Confession, it’s taken me THREE YEARS to finally say yes to a friend who has offered a multitude of times to watch my child so I could have a break. I’ve never said yes to friends help because “they have x amount of their own children, they don’t need to watch mine too” or “how can I put more on their plate when their hands are more full than mine”. What I’ve realized is that these women, my friends, are offering because they love me, because they have the bandwidth to help another mom in need. They didn’t offer to help conditionally, or because they didn’t mean it. They offered help because they LOVE me, because they get it, and because they know motherhood cannot be done alone. Me saying “yes” to them helping, is NOT a burden to them, and I now realize this.🙏 Motherhood was meant to be done in community, don’t forget it. ❤️ Thank you ld_shute for constantly offering to be my support.
