The West Highland Way Diaries: Day 4 Waking up after our 19 mile day was tough, especially knowing we had 15 until our next campsite in Tyndrum. With no other choice but to keep going, we ate our breakfast and hit the trail. The walking was fairly easy on this day, and we saw loads of Scottish “wildlife.” Hundreds of sheep, a few highland coos, and even a rare red squirrel. We opted to make a detour to Crianlarich for lunch, making the official WHW trek jump from 96 miles to 100. We met the crazy goose lady, were awed by her highly curated honesty box, and trudged through miles of forest land used for logging. Just before we arrived in Tyndrum, we stopped at the Lochan of the Lost Sword. Unfortunately we didn’t find the sword, but that would have been so good for the plot. The last two miles to Tyndrum were painful, and we were starving for dinner and ready for so much needed rest.
