On Friday, September 12th, SUNY Potsdam Director of Athletics Mark Misiak announced that Mike Grace will serve as the interim head coach for the Bears’ men’s ice hockey program. Bennett, a native of Rochester, NY, is a graduate of Plattsburgh State where he played from 2009-2013. In 105 career games for the Cardinals, Grace accumulated 10 goals & 42 assists for 52 points. The Cardinals won two #SUNYAC titles during his tenure as he was also a two-time #AHCA All-American. Grace would move into the pro hockey ranks after college, suiting up for the Mississippi River Kings of the #SPHL for four seasons. In 223 games, Grace put together 12 goals & 77 assists for 89 points. He was named to the SPHL All-Rookie team in 2013-2014. Shifting into coaching the following season from hanging up his skates, Grace spent three seasons as a graduate assistant coach at King’s College from 2017-2020.
