Today I knocked out my first sprint triathlon placing 3rd 🥉 with zumabeachtri. Because of my injured finger, I couldn’t swim, so my brother Chris jumped in and handled the swim. He’s a great swimmer, came out the water fast, and from there I took over and did the bike (18 miles) and the run (4 miles). What made it even crazier is the teams we went up against had three people one for each discipline. With us, it was just two. Chris swam, and I did the rest. I was also the biggest guy out there, but that didn’t stop me. I ran my fastest 4 miles ever at 34 minutes and pushed myself harder than I ever have before. This was a true test of getting uncomfortable, staying fit, and proving to myself that fit is the way to live. And to top it all off I was so full of adrenaline at the finish that I didn’t even realize we had won until they called our team name.
