Did you know you can make rope out of milkweed? šæ The fibers inside its stalks are surprisingly strong. Native Americans and early settlers once used them for twine, fishing line, and even cordage for nets. All it takes is splitting open the dried stalk, peeling back the fibers, and twisting them together until they form a durable strand. To me, thatās one of the coolest things about homesteading. Realizing the world around us is full of resources waiting to be discovered. Next time you see a stand of milkweed, donāt just think āmonarch butterfly foodā š¦ itās also a reminder that creation is packed with hidden gifts, just waiting for us to put them to use šŖ #milkweed #rope #diy #natural #shilohfarm
