DJDS Celebrates 50 Years 🥂
In 1975, a group of Denver parents turned their vision into reality.
They wanted their kids to get an amazing education AND stay connected to their Jewish roots
So they started Theodor Herzl Jewish Day School in Rabbi Steven Foster’s office at Temple Emanuel.
Four years later, another group said "Hold my coffee" and launched Rocky Mountain Hebrew Academy (RMHA) so that students could continue their education through middle school and high school.
Two schools. Same mission. Both thriving.
But here's where it gets good...
In the mid-90s, under the leadership of Herzl head David Finell, these two powerhouses looked at each other and said "What if we joined forces?" David outlined a vision for how the two schools could come together to form a campus for Jewish education and more.
Plot twist: It worked. It REALLY worked.
By 2002, we had our gorgeous unified campus on Wabash Street. By 2011, we were given the new name of Denver Jewish Day School. We have ...
