I saw this post from dr.softball33 and had to add my two cents. Three years ago my son’s high school basketball coach stepped down as he was going into his junior year. All eyes were on me to take the job. There was no way I would do it because I was too busy, so I thought. But, then I realized that I would never get these moments back with him so I said yes. Basketball has been so good to me and I’ve learned so much, not only about the game but about life and relationships. The beautiful thing about the game of basketball is, you have to build your individual skill but learn how to use that skill to make your teammates better. Improving your character, helps you become a better player. I enjoyed committing my time to trying to figure out how to help these boys become better basketball players and for some of them, help them realize their dreams of playing basketball in college.
