#BLPhistory In 1946, after being denied access to white golf courses, Bill Powell refused to give up on the game he loved. With determination, support from his family, and a loan from his brother, he purchased 78 acres of land in East Canton, Ohio. That land became Clearview Golf Club, the first Black owned and operated golf course in America.
Clearview was built to welcome everyone, no matter their race, at a time when segregation tried to keep people apart. Today it stands as a living legacy of perseverance, vision, and breaking barriers. āš¾ā³ļø
