More than 100 people, many in cosplay, gathered at the Lloyd Center mall after-hours Friday night for the first ever “Lightsabers on Ice” event. It was pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a chance to ice skate with lightsabers, while in costume, listening to music, in a mostly empty mall. Friday night’s event was an official after party for Rose City Comic Con, but legion_sabers and dockingbay45 plan to do similar events each month during the fall. The next will be a Halloween-themed event from 8-10 p.m. Oct. 31.
