“I came in not knowing anyone… and these programs helped me feel like I have a place on campus,” says Kathryn McGovern. She signed up for a Service & Justice Trip out of curiosity, carrying equal parts excitement and uncertainty. What turned the trip into transformation? Community and reflection. Shared meals, river sunsets and honest conversation paired with time to reflect, “helped me understand how God was working through those moments” and turned classmates into friends. Today, Kathryn is part of a Christian Life Community (CLC) and helps promote justice events through the SCSJ, living Jesuit values through relationship, purpose and action.
