Despite what you may have read on Reddit, there is no formal agreement between our parent nonprofit, Western Neighborhoods Project (aka outsidelandz) and Another Planet Entertainment for the use of the name “Outside Lands.” It’s a historical term, free for anyone to use however they wish. We’ve been using it since 1999 in reference to all the west side history we share, and APE has been using it for their festival in Golden Gate Park since 2008.
