Join Kit Ortega and Western Neighborhoods Project for a libatious history walk through Cole Valley and Haight Ashbury–two of WNP’s newest neighborhoods–to kick off Pride weekend. Considered one of San Francisco’s most quiet and quaint neighbourhoods, Cole Valley has a deep history of queer community and culture that spans the course of the 20th Century. Cruising Cole Valley (...& The Upper Haight Too!) highlights the lives and legacies of LGBTQIA+ San Franciscans outside of the Castro as we explore sites and subjects that defined queer culture here in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond. Meeting at a super secret location that was once a popular lesbian bar, we’ll share a no-host drink together and start sharing history at 6:30pm.
