Miami FC’s 15,000-seat stadium can commence construction following the Homestead, Fla. city council’s approval of an 80-year ground lease. The stadium will anchor the Sports Performance Hub (SPH). It will be built on the 92-acre site of a current park adjacent to Homestead-Miami Speedway. SPH will open in 18 months. The development will contain facilities for tennis, soccer, basketball, and football; a residential boarding school for student-athletes; a sports medicine center; and a 200-room hotel with an adjoining entertainment district.
