⚓ The USS Richard M. McCool Jr. (LPD 29) arrived in Pensacola for its Commissioning Ceremony this weekend, named after Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Richard M. McCool Jr. for his heroism during the Battle of Okinawa. LPD 29 is the first ship to be equipped with the Raytheon-built SPY-6(V)2 radar that simultaneously defends against cruise missiles, anti-surface and anti-ship threats, jamming/clutter and electronic warfare.
