ARTIFACT IN ACTION: Micki King was a pioneer before she was a champion. Denied the chance to compete in college, she trained in secret with the men’s team at the University of Michigan. Her coach didn’t see gender - he saw potential!   Micki learned dives no woman had ever done before, pushing the boundaries of what was possible in the sport. A broken arm kept her from the podium in 1968, but she came back stronger and won gold in the three-meter springboard at the Munich 1972 Olympic Games. Colonel, Coach, Trailblazer.
