Witness Shannon Miller’s scrunchie in action during her balance beam routine in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games team event.   Shannon scored a 9.862 in her balance beam routine and helped Team USA win gold. Shannon Miller’s coach, Peggy Liddick, had hand-glued two dozen sparkles to the scrunchie. The scrunchie can be found on the Summer Games floor when you visit the museum.
