back home with my favorite team ruvball
narrowing down this post to 20 photos was a challenge. earlier this year i bought a 400mm lens and had great fun using it for spring sports. when i went to europe with the volleyball team, i didn't bring it, because it's 13 pounds and would have needed to replace half my clothing. since then, i've wondered what it would be like shooting volleyball on a 400, and last night i found out. it's a challenge to track and frame subjects with less margin of error than a 70-200. but i think the results are worth it. i never even put on my 70-200; these are all with either the 400mm 2.8 or 24mm 1.4 — my newest lens, which i've been having fun with. tried some shutter drag during player intros to moderate levels of success. let me know what you think! 😊
