Canned #beans are convenient to crack open, but rather than dirtying a colander to rinse them, try this tip. Hold the can upside down over the sink and make three small holes at the bottom with a can opener or church key. Turn the can right side up, set it over a clean drain, and open the top with a can opener. Liquid will drain through the bottom holes, and you can easily rinse the beans off with water.
