I actually wrote these notes a while ago and wasn’t sure if I’d share them. But now, returning from a much-needed breather, I thought — yes, let me be real for a second.
Working against gendered violence, both on and offline, opens your eyes in ways that are hard to put into words. It’s exhausting, it’s infuriating, & yet it’s also clarifying; I don't have the luxury of not speaking out & putting the work in to help end GBV.
After both the Women’s Months I observe — March & August — I’ve made it a habit to recommit myself to this extremely non-linear journey of taking a stand. Because the fight to end gendered violence is not seasonal.
