At just 11 years old, Christine faced the threat of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Kuria, her community in rural Kenya. Determined to create a different life from girls in her community, she reached out for help and found it through Maggie, a mentor from She’s the First Partner msichanaempowermentkuria (MEK). With She’s the First’s support and MEK’s guidance and mentorship, Christine found safety, hope, and a path back to school.
