Earlier this year, activists and feminist leaders took to the streets in Kenya calling for an end to femicide through protests and community demonstrations. Our partner kiaswa_ke —a sex worker-led organization providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services—joined the call, honoring sex workers killed in recent years and demanding state protections and policies to build a world that is equitable and safe for all sex workers.
In East Africa, the fight for reproductive justice stands alongside movements demanding an end to gender-based violence. Global Fund for Women is proud to support grantee partners working to end all forms of violence and advancing reproductive justice in the region, from providing life-saving information on safe abortion through hotlines, direct services, and more. Together, they are building a future where bodily autonomy, dignity, and safety are non-negotiable.
