Pressing flowers 🌿🌼🍂It is one of my very favorite things to do in the Autumn. The garden will soon be tucking itself in for winter and I’ll have much fewer flowers to work with throughout those months. I use them in my baked goods, crafts, and even for Christmas gifts! Having presses on hand that you can take with you foraging, in the garden, or even to your mom’s house (sorry mom - I’m a flower snatcher) is so handy! These pretty little presses from macon_makes are perfect for just that. They’re sourced from locally grown hardwoods and feature original hand drawn artwork on them. So very special and unique! Just like the artisans making them!
For my baked goods I have a special box of pressed flowers and then for my crafts I have another. This way I don’t get confused between what’s an edible floral and what’s not! It’s always safe to check and double check if flowers are safe or not! I see so many people fit things like hydrangeas and foxgloves on cakes! EEK!
