#HabitatUncoveR3D with Katie Wardle (wildcamerakatie) Cinematographer Katie Wardle brings wildlife and conservation stories to the screen, most recently filming across the globe for BBC’s Parenthood with Sir David Attenborough. From Dominica and California to Argentina and Shetland, Katie carried one consistent setup: the RED GEMINI 5K paired with Canon’s CN-20 and 50–1000mm lenses. Versatility was key. In the same day, Katie could capture the underwater macro behavior of the Tri Tri Goby with a Nauticam LT housing (nauticamhousings) and Laowa 24mm probe (venuslaowa), then quickly switch to long-lens topside sequences. Lightweight gear also proved essential for shoots that required trekking through jungles or abseiling into remote riverbeds. Working with crepuscular animals meant relying on GEMINI’s low-light capabilities to capture never-before-seen moments—like coyotes hunting during California’s super bloom or spider monkeys drinking from rainforest flowers at dawn.
