Sky Dances Light closes Saturday, September 30th at Kavi Gupta Gallery! In 2022, I set out to make a series of sculptures I had long dreamed about. These sculptures would be interactive, engaging touch and sound and sight. I imagined how they might live alongside and be activated by other artists and communities. To that end, we worked with our friends at Portland Garment Factory to create sixteen jingle sculptures ranging in size from the modest to the monumental to debut together at Kavi Gupta Gallery. The exhibition became an immersive environment, an open invitation to connect. Visitors of Sky Dances Light were encouraged to touch, hug, spin, and interact with the clouds to produce sound and movement. Sky Dances Light also marked the beginning of my collaborations with performers, a long-held ambition.
