I’ve been in a hopeless mood lately. I was talking (crying) to my mom that at least part of it is due to I guess what you’d call climate anxiety and the desperation from every time we win one legislative battle against something that threatens the environment, another one starts. It just does not compute to me that anyone could see so much as a beetle and think “I don’t care”. I care so much and it does not compute to me that money means more to other people. On the other hand, having spent so much time in nature—whether it’s a caterpillar I run into on my walk to class or a camping trip or going to another country—I’ve also seen how incredibly beautiful the world is and have fallen in love with it continuously.
