‘Isamu Noguchi: A Feeling’ is now open at White Cube Hong Kong!
The exhibition offers a focused exploration of the profound impact that the Chinese master ink painter Qi Baishi had on Isamu Noguchi’s later sculptural practice.
Noguchi first encountered Qi’s work during a visit to Beijing in the early 1930s. Qi was already a prominent figure in modern ink painting, and their time together led Noguchi to produce a series of works known as the ‘Peking Brush Drawings’ (all 1930). Three of these, along with a selection of Noguchi’s later bronze sculptures, are exhibited alongside Qi’s own work in ‘A Feeling’.
Visit the exhibition until 18 October 2025. Click the link in our bio to learn more.
