Last month Njernda Aboriginal Corporation Youth Services and Echuca Police partnered to promote bike and electrical scooter safety.⁣ ⁣ Aimed at building stronger relationships and positive engagement within the community, Njernda Youth Services provided bike helmets to Echuca Police.⁣ ⁣ Rather than issuing fines to those not wearing a helmet, officers took the opportunity to educate riders, offering free helmets and providing additional support and care – especially to young community members who may be unaware of the risks or simply unable to afford proper safety gear.⁣ ⁣ Njernda Youth Services and Echuca Police hope this initiative will serve as a meaningful step toward fostering trust, understanding, and shared responsibility for safer roads and stronger community connections.⁣ ⁣ #RegionalPolicing #CommunityPolicing #Police #EbikeSafety #EScooterSafety
