For those paying close attention to the case design of the 6190 Field Chronometer, you’ll notice the evolution of the chamfer, twisting from lug to lug instead of dying on the edge. The reason for this evolution is very simple.
The side of the rotating bezels of the Ref. 5303 and 8315 are polished, whereas the signature flat-top bezel of the Serica Field Watch is vertically brushed. This is obviously not ideal when it meets the center-case, as the latter is also finished with a 12-6 vertical brushing.
The new twisted lugs of the reference 6190 create a polished split between the two components revealing the harmonious layers of its construction.
