The National Museum of Korea (nationalmuseumofkorea) just keeps breaking records — and its latest merch drop is another instant sellout.
This time, the hit item is a brooch inspired by National Treasure No. 87, the Gold Crown from Geumgwanchong. Shaped after a 5th-century Silla crown, the piece feels like a modern echo of Silla artisans’ refined metalwork. Made of brass with 18K gold plating, it’s priced at KRW 88,000 (~USD 63) and is already sold out ahead of restock. ✨
Meanwhile, the museum has welcomed over 4 million visitors this year, already surpassing last year’s total. For the first time in its 80-year history, it’s now on track to hit 5 million visitors in a single year.
Even the museum’s goods shop, MUDS (muds_museumgoods), pulled in KRW 11.5 billion (~USD 8.3 million) in sales in just the first half of the year — proof that global interest in Korea’s roots and cultural heritage is hotter than ever. 🔥🇰🇷
