I started my photography journey when I was still a mid-level associate at the Firm. It started with a webcam and was mostly because I wanted to figure out how to look better in my Facebook profile pic (hey, I keep it real with y’all). I eventually upgraded to a DSLR and learned a lot about lighting and composition and editing, still mostly focusing on myself. Then, in 2016, I started “food blogging,” and I shifted my lens to food.
Food photography shares a lot with human portrait work. You’re still trying to bring out the best in your subject with the combination of angles, lighting, etc. But I’ve found, in some ways, you have far less room for error with food, in part because it’s melting, cooling, drying, or being eaten by your husband!! LOLOL!
