This mural was one giant experiment for me. I took all the different painting techniques I’ve learned this year, put them together, and threw them into this piece. It’s uncomfortable as hell to try new things when I’m both on a deadline and when someone else is paying for the project. That being said, I’ve realized I often times am more intentional with my work when there’s a little fire under my ass. I’m proud of this one because it stretched my comfort zone and gets my mind spinning about ways to keep improving. I most definitely couldn’t have painted this 6 months ago and that’s a cool feeling.
