Concept or Production Car? 🤔
The Toyota FT-1 Concept from 2014 was the real teaser for what eventually became the GR Supra.
The FT-1 had an even more dramatic design with a long nose, wild aero cutouts, an oversized rear wing, and a futuristic interior that felt closer to a supercar than a sports coupe.
When the production Supra launched in 2019, much of that wild styling was softened — the nose was shorter, the vents became more restrained or purely cosmetic, and the interior turned into a more practical BMW-based cockpit.
Still, the overall proportions, double-bubble roof, and aggressive stance of the FT-1 carried through, making the GR Supra feel like a toned-down but recognizable descendant of one of Toyota’s boldest concepts.
What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
