“Science has always sparked my curiosity, but it was through hands-on challenges that I discovered my passion for engineering. From building a weight-bearing tower for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) competition — where our school team earned bronze — to helping create a virtual Women in STEM Career Fair, I’ve seen how innovation can drive meaningful change. Receiving the Schulich Leader Scholarship is a great honor. It will allow me to focus on my engineering journey and turn bold ideas into real-world solutions that make the field more impactful and life-changing.” Kaylie is a first-year Engineering student and one of six recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship — awarded to Canada’s top high school graduates.
