This 1977 Porsche 934, courtesy of Holbert Racing, is a yellow jacket with a serious stinger. Even at a low idle, nefarious intentions are clear. During ‘campaigns in 76 and ‘77 this 934 found itself on podiums in Pocono, Mosport, Trois-Rivieres, and Gainesville, with Al Holbert and co-driver Doc Bundy behind the wheel. The car was built for and sponsored by G.W. Dickinson, driven like a Tennessee storm, then sold to Don, Bill, and Dale Whittington at the tail end of ‘79 . The Whittingtons would enter the 934 in the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring, following in the footsteps of their father, Don Sr., albeit by different means. A full mechanical and cosmetic restoration of the car began in 2018, according to Classic Motorsports; the vehicle still being in possession of most of its original parts.
