Casey Goonan, the individual charged with the firebombing of a UC Berkeley police vehicle, was sentenced to 235 months in prison and 15 years of supervised release, a longer sentence than what the prosecution initially requested. Some of the conditions of Goonan’s supervised release after serving their prison sentence include: not committing any state or federal crimes, not possessing or using any controlled substances, restricted use and access to the internet, registering as an arson offender and not being in the vicinity of campus. Goonan must also pay restitution of approximately $94,000; approximately $89,000 of the total is due to the UC Board of Regents.
