Pickles and I were lucky enough to meet PCT legends Scout and Frodo as we were taking a side trail to escape the worst of the wildfire smoke from the Wildcat Fire (we think). These incredibly lovely people hosted hikers at their San Diego home for 20 years before moving East to be with family, and they were out on the trail with Pass to Pass, an organization that provides multi-day backpacking trips for people with Parkinson’s Disease. It was such an honor to sit and chat with them at Pete’s Lake, and to hear a bit about their PCT journeys. It’s clear how much they love they love both the trail and the hikers. ❤️ .
