PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT: With the current McCallum soccer field under construction, both boys and girls soccer have moved their practices to inside. Last year, when the construction was underway, both teams were forced to practice and play at Nelson field during their in season, however, for preseason they have had to shift to some different practice methods away from the field. Today was the first day the girls got to play real game-like drills and scrimmages. Junior Maya Garwood says they have been trying many different activities around the school. “To practice we play in the gym, weight room, and run around the school,” Garwood said. “We also play soccer tennis.” While some people may see playing inside as a negative, Garwood thinks it is helping her technique. “It benefits me because sometimes we practice with really small soccer balls that can help my technical skills improve,” Garwood. #dayinthelifeatmac Caption by Carson Duncan.
