I get asked about making travel less stressful, about how to plan & prepare so you can avoid feeling out of your depth & make travel easier and more comfortable. How to make sure everything is planned to perfection before you go so nothing can go wrong. But I wonder, is that really making travel any better? And does it even work? Some of the best lessons l've learned on my travels is on trips where things went a bit wrong, where we were out of our depth, or winging it a bit. We've made friends with the strangers in the little hostels and cheap night buses we booked into, we made connections with strangers when we didn't speak the same language, and some of the best food I've eaten was ordered by pointing at something on a menu in a language I didn't understand. Our travels became so much richer when we learned to just let go and let the chaos and unpredictability of travel be a positive and not a stressor! Because we are so lucky to be doing it at all! So if you're worried about a trip...
